Who’s eligible for the referral program?

If you've sent at least AED 20 on the app before March 1st, then you are eligible to earn referral rewards.

How can I check if a friend is already on Mamo Pay?

To check if a friend is already on Mamo Pay, open the app and type out the amount you want to send. Once you are on the contact selection screen, you will see that some of your contacts have a blue Mamo icon next to their name. These contacts already have Mamo Pay. Search for the person you want to send money to and check if they have the blue Mamo icon. If they don’t, they are not on Mamo Pay and will receive a link via SMS or email letting them know you’ve sent money.

How and when will I receive the referral rewards?

Based on the number of referrals each week, your referral rewards will be added to your Mamo wallet. This will be done every Monday.

How does the referral program work?

Every time you refer a new friend to use Mamo Pay, both you and your friend will receive AED 5 each. For every 10 people you refer, you'll receive an additional bonus of AED 100. For example, if you refer:

  • 5 friends, you will receive AED 25 (5x5)
  • 10 friends, you will receive AED 200 (5x10 + 100)
  • 11 friends, you will receive AED 205 (5x11 + 100)
  • 20 friends, you will receive AED 300 (5x20 + 100 + 100)
How long is the referral program valid for?

The program is valid all throughout the month of March 2021. So anyone you send money to until 31 March 2021 will be considered your referral, even if they claim the money in April.

How can I refer a friend?

You simply have to send any amount of money to someone who isn’t already on Mamo Pay. On your app, you can see who from your contacts is already on Mamo and who isn’t, so when you send money to someone who isn’t, they’ll receive a link via SMS or email letting them know you’ve sent money.


How long does it take to add money to my Mamo Pay wallet?

Adding money from your credit or debit card is instant, so you'll be able to send this money to family and friends immediately. If you add money by transferring money from your bank account, depending on your bank it could take up to 1 business day for money to reach your Mamo Pay wallet. You will receive a notification as soon as the money is in your wallet.

Are there any limits on withdrawals?

Unfortunately, due restrictions imposed by banks we are unable to process withdrawals below AED 100. This is a little annoying for us too, we are working with banks to see if this can actually be resolved but for now please kindly make sure withdrawals are greater than AED 100. Can I use Mamo Pay internationally?

Not right now. We are currently focused on developing the best experience in the UAE, and expanding to the GCC soon.

Is Mamo Pay secure?

Mamo Pay wants to bring you the safest environment possible. We are also working closely with regulators and banks to ensure we are compliant with all regulatory requirements.

How long does it take for withdrawals to reach my bank account?

While we endeavor to process withdrawals immediately, UAE banks sometimes require 1 business day to process and deposit.

Are there any fees to send money using Mamo Pay?

Sending money to another Mamo Pay wallet is completely free, no fees now and forever.

How do I delete my account

We're sorry to see you go! Please use the following steps to delete your account:

  • Contact to request account deletion
  • Our team will ask you a few verification questions to confirm you are the account holder
  • Once we have verified you are the account holder, your account will be deleted from our system
Can I access Mamo Pay to send or receive money without a smartphone?

Right now, you can only use the Android or iPhone app. We hope to launch a Mamo Pay web application in the future that you can access from your computer.

Who can use Mamo Pay?

Mamo Pay is currently available in the UAE only. We have an iPhone and Android app and you can use it to send money to anyone in the UAE.

Can I cancel a payment?

Please ensure that you are sending money to the right person. The safest way to do this is to grant Mamo Pay access to your phone contacts while sending money. If a payment has unintentionally been sent to the wrong person Mamo Pay will try its best to request the respondent to return the money, but we cannot guarantee that they will agree. Please email us on from the email address linked to your Mamo Pay account.

What is Mamo Pay?

Mamo Pay is an easy way to send money directly between friends and family. With just their email address or mobile phone number, you can quickly and securely send and receive money to and from people, regardless of where you bank.

Are there any fees to add money to my Mamo Pay wallet?

Adding and withdrawing money from your Mamo Pay wallet is completely free.

How do I report issues, bugs, and provide feedback?

We use Instabug to collect and track issues, bugs, and general feedback. At any point inside the Mamo Pay app simply do a two-finger swipe from right to left to activate Instabug on any device. You will be prompted with a help menu where you can select to report a problem or suggest an improvement. Instabug automatically captures a screenshot of your screen and all you have to do is provide some comments. Our team will get back to you if we have any further questions.

Which banks are supported?

You are able to connect any UAE bank by simply using your bank account's IBAN and following the instructions in the app. We are working on integrating all your favorite banks so you can safely and securely connect to them in the future more seamlessly, without manually entering the IBAN.

How long does it take to receive money from someone with Mamo Pay?

Transfers are instant between Mamo Pay users.

How can I register for Mamo Pay?

During the Private Beta users are able to register via email or using their existing Google account. Mamo Pay never sees or gets access to your Google passwords or data. Your password is never stored on our servers.

How do I get started?

Will the person I send money to be notified?

Yes, they will receive a notification message as soon as the money received.

Who can I send money to with Mamo Pay?

You can send money to anyone in the UAE. Even if the person you're sending money to doesn't have Mamo Pay yet, they will receive an SMS or e-mail letting them know you've sent them money, and as soon as they download the app and register, they'll receive the money in their account. If they don't register within three days, the money will be refunded to your Mamo wallet.

What if the person I’m sending money to hasn’t registered with Mamo Pay?

They will be encouraged to click the link and download the Mamo Pay app to receive the money instantly. If they don’t click the link within three days, the money will be immediately refunded to your Mamo Pay wallet.

Someone sent me money with Mamo Pay. How do I receive it?

If someone sent you money via Mamo Pay then this will appear in your Mamo Pay wallet instantly, and you can track the payment in your activity. If you have received a magic link then, please click on the link and accept the payment. This will be reflected in your wallet balance and activity.

Is there a limit to how much money I can send?

You can send up to AED 3,500 per day.
